Therapeutic Programme

A unique opportunity

Our therapeutic programme represents a unique opportunity in the Italian panorama because:

  • it is personalized
  • is highly specialized
  • supports guests from detoxification till after treatment
  • foresees an 6-week recovery
  • offers follow-up support at a distance after treatment
  • offers contextual support to the family

Short times and scientifically proven methods

The treatment is based on a holistic interdisciplinary approach, which takes into account
the multidimensional aspects of dependence, which is treated from all points of view – medical, psychological, educational and spiritual – integrating the following techniques:

  • Cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectic behavioural therapy (DBT)
  • Prevention of recurrences through Mindfulness (prevention of relapses based on Mindfulness – MBRP)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Desensitisation and reworking through eye movements (EMDR)
  • Facilitation of the 12 Steps
  • Motivational counselling
  • Psycho-body groups of biotransenergetics
  • Family counselling and self-help groups
  • Each of these methodological techniques is scientifically proven.

The latest international evidence indicates that it is precisely their integrated use that gives the best results.

Rehabilitation objectives

The treatment is personalized, as it considers each aspect of the guests’ history, psychopathological profile, and individual elements of addiction. Some of our specific goals in the process towards rehabilitation are as follows:

  • to increase the motivation to change
  • to identify the interpersonal, intrapersonal, physiological, and environmental factors that might lead to a relapse
  • to increase the sense of self-efficiency by fostering the acquisition of more adaptive coping strategies
  • to increase the level of the guest’s awareness of thoughts, emotions, and feelings, and their relationship with compulsive behaviours
  • to foster the evaluation of the guest’s life in relation to past experiences as well as goals for the future
  • to learn new skills through recreational activities (such as language classes, sport activities, etc.)
  • to strengthen the sense of individual spirituality
  • to support families as they face and manage the addiction of the guests

After Care

At the end of the treatment programme, guests will be strongly encouraged to continue their participation in self-help groups in their own country. However, our staff will also provide three formal follow-up sessions during the first six months after discharge to evaluate and monitor the guest’s progress towards a new life free from addictions. Both follow-ups and therapeutic sessions can be done with us via telephone, Skype, or with our network of UK based health care professionals.
